Bovis in New York over billing investigation

Bovis Lend Lease says it is cooperating with US Federal Attorney and New York District Attorney investigations into allegations of over billing on a series of projects in New York, US.
According to parent company, Australia's Lend Lease, the investigation has been triggered by allegations made by a former employee. It is alleged that Bovis billed clients for excess costs it incurred when using foreman from a union ‘pool' of workers in New York.
The union labour pool is a source of extra labour available to contractors in New York, which Bovis says it has made use of.
The company says it is also carrying out its own internal investigation into the allegations.
The allegations against Bovis have sparked public outcry in New York because of the company's involvement on several high profile and emotive projects.
These include the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, being built on the site of the World Trade Centre twin towers and the new Citi Field stadium for the Mets baseball team.
