BPH Attachments acquires piling hammer specialist

BPH Attachments in the UK has acquired piling hammer supplier RTS Piling, for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2001, RTS Piling is based south of Bristol and offers equipment services to customers in Somerset, Devon, Dorset and Gloucestershire.
It’s owner and manager Susan Nowell chose to sell the family-run business after deciding to retire, five years after the death of her husband, Roger Nowell, RTS Piling’s co-founder.
Susan Nowell said: “Like us, BPH Attachments is family-run and both companies have very similar values and objectives, such as being committed to product excellence and exceptional customer service.
“We have worked with BPH on numerous occasions and we’ve always had a great working relationship. We know they will do the best for RTS customers, and customers will continue to receive the same great service they have become familiar with.
The takeover deal will allow BPH, which has depots in the midlands and the south east of England, to expand into the UK’s south west region.
BPH, which offers excavator attachments from brands such as LaBounty, OilQuick, Auger Torque and Prodem, plans to expand RTS Piling’s product lines to give customers “a wider choice of attachments for sale and hire, including hydraulic hammers, selector grabs and pulverisers”.
BPH said that while it plans to rebrand the company under its own name, it will retain all of the existing staff at RTS Piling.
Matthew Bastable, sales director at BPH Attachments, said: “The RTS team has some of the best knowledge and experience of piling hammers in the industry, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the BPH Attachments family.
“We’d like to assure customers they will still be dealing with the same people, but they will see a change in branding and an extended product offering.”
BPH will also be adding servicing and repair facilities to the RTS depot in, which will now be run by Mark Nowell - the son of Roger Nowell.
Susan Nowell said: “My husband worked extremely hard to develop the business and I’m delighted our son Mark will still be involved as the depot manager to help it grow and continue to be successful as BPH Attachments.”
