Bus lift bonuses

25 April 2008

A new electromechanical bus lifting system in the US is designed to avoid potential environmental problems associated with designs that use hydraulics.

When replacing existing equipment Whiting Corporation's new bus lift can use the existing caisson for the vertical travel of the rear hoist. The front hoist can move horizontally to adjust for buses of different length by using an existing pit. The system was introduced at the APTA International Public Transportation Expo 2005 in Dallas.
