Cat dealer Zahid Tractor signs up with Infor

04 February 2013

Zahid Tractor & Heavy Machinery Co Ltd, a Cat dealer and major power rental company in Saudi Arabia, is to implement Infor’s M3 for Equipment software solution covering its sales and rental operations.

The M3 system will be used by 400 staff at 40 of Zahid Tractor’s sites and will cover construction equipment sales and servicing as well as its power rental and Cat Rental Store operations.

Zahid will also take advantage of M3’s Caterpillar-specific interfaces for service, parts ordering, parts shipment sales and warranty activities.

The two year installation project will include several Zahid group companies: Zahid Tractor & Heavy Machinery (with three divisions for Construction Machinery, Commercial Vehicles and Rental); Arabian Vehicles and Trucks Industry; equipment sales company TAMGO; Zahid Industries Ltd and Al Taaqa Alternative Solutions Ltd.

“Our business divisions have seen major growth over the last four years”, said Joseph Hrawi, director ERP for the Zahid Group, “But our legacy systems proved too difficult to maintain and cope with the continuously changing and growing requirements coming both from our suppliers and our internal and external customers.

“We found in the M3, Infor and Accentia combination a best fit for a heavy equipment dealer and power rental company like ours. We were looking for a completely integrated system capable of helping us with our ambitious growth plans and we believe we’ve found it.”

The contract will be implemented by Infor and Accentia Middle East, which is Infor’s M3 partner for the Middle East and North Africa.

Infor said it Zahid Tractor & Heavy Machinery was one of Caterpillar’s top five dealers worldwide and had joined a “growing list” of Cat dealers who have invested in M3 for Equipment.

Stephan Scholl, Infor president, said; “Infor is investing more than $300 million a year in its applications. So this continued migration by Cat dealers who are joining the Infor community is real testament to the quality of our product development work”.

The Zahid family has been the Caterpillar dealer in Saudi Arabia since 1950. It also sells brands including Daewoo buses, JLG aerial platforms, Jungheinrich material handling equipment, Renault trucks, Terex cranes and Volvo trucks and buses.
