Cat Ups Outlook

Caterpillar has raised its outlook for 2007 following a record first quarter. The world's largest construction equipment manufacturer says full-year sales will be between US$ 42 billion and US$ 44 billion. It previously said revenues for the year would be between US$ 41.5 billion and US$ 43.6 billion. It also upped its profit forecast to between US$ 5.30 and US$ 5.80 per share, compared to the previous guidance of US$ 5.20 to US$ 5.70 per share. Last year it earned US$ 5.17 per share.
