A consortium comprising Hochtief Construction and Commerzbank has won the € 241 million contract to build the Elbphilharmonie concert hall complex in Hamburg Harbour. The site of the Elbphilharmonie is a former quayside warehouse, 37 m above the River Elbe. In addition to three concert halls, with a “Musical Museum” and a music teaching area, it will comprise a 5-star hotel with almost 250 rooms, restaurants and a multistorey parking facility for more than 500 vehicles.

The complex was designed by Herzog & de Meuron.
