Change at the top of the IDE
27 November 2014
The IDE’s annual AGM saw Duncan Rudall take over the mantle from outgoing president Steve Jack. Duncan said at the meeting: "The day I became a member of the IDE was the proudest day of my life, other than my marriage and the arrival of my children. It gave me a great sense of achievement within the industry and a feeling of recognition from my peers." The video linked to this story continues his inaugural speech as president at the meeting.
Other officer positions were announced during the event resulting from the recent membership election, with David Darsey elected as vice president and Stuart Accleton elected to the post of honorary treasurer. Gary Bishop, Terry Quarmby, Michael Ulyatt, Vernon Watson and John Woodward were elected to the IDE management council at the AGM. This body is also to be now made up of 11 members, down from the previous 14, a motion carried by the attending delegates at the AGM.
