China's Sunward develops tele crawler crane
16 June 2009
IC has little technical detail on the new crane, and Sunward said it could not give a definite date when the machine will be available, but the company said it had plans for a small range of crawler mounted cranes.
The SWTC model will be the first crane built by Sunward, which mainly manufactures hydraulic excavators, rotary drilling rigs, skid steer loaders and pile driving equipment.
The crane uses Sunward's existing manufacturing and design expertise. The crawler technology used on the crane comes from Sunward's excavators and drilling rigs, and it has boom manufacturing experience from its range of static pile driving models.
Sunward, based in Changsha, is one of China's fastest growing equipment manufacturers, with sales last year of RMB 1.4 billion (US$205 million). Around 20% of its sales are exports, but the company aims to increase the export business.
