Chinese move from Powercrusher - Joint venture formed with Dunshi

09 August 2010

Hartl Powercrusher has formed a joint venture company with Chinese cement company Dunshi, part of the Jidong Development Group Ltd. Called Hartl Jidong Crusher Manufacturing LLC, based at a factory in Tangshan in Hebei Province, the 50/50 joint venture will build Powercrusher units for the home Chinese market. The production facility where the Powercrusher machines will be assembled consists of four halls covering an area of 75,000 m2 (807,000 ft2).

One reason behind the joint venture was the need to supply the Jidong Group with the latest compact crushing technology, with a E2 million (US$2.5 million) order for five units having been recently signed by the two companies at Hartl's Austrian headquarters. In addition, Powercrusher will save on shipping and transport costs, and manufacturing in the country will allow easier entry into what is the world's largest construction and construction equipment market.
