Costain has been awarded a contract worth £150 million (€ 170 million) by the Welsh government to construct the A465 Heads of the Valleys road in South Wales.

UK-based Costain, in partnership with Atkins, Halcrow and RPS Group, will design and construct an 8 km section between Brynmawr and Gilwern.

The project will present significant engineering and environmental challenges as the road passes through a number of sites of special scientific interest including the Clydach Gorge within the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Costain is one of the UK's leading construction and engineering solutions providers.
