Cramo wins 'breakthrough' accommodation job in Germany

Cramo’s German subsidiary, Theisen Baumaschinen, has signed a “major” temporary accommodation rental contract with energy company Technische Werke Ludwigshafen (TWL).

TWL will rent a total of 2500 m² of space for four years, covering several buildings at its headquarters in Ludwigshafen, including a three-storey, 1600 m² main building. The value of the project is not being made public.

“This is a major breakthrough for our modular space operations in Central Europe”, said Petri Moksén, senior vice president and head of Cramo Adapteo, the specialist accommodation division.

“The extent of the contract is substantial also from the Nordic perspective, where our operations have been well established over the past 25 years. In Germany, where we have been active only for a couple of years, this is a strategically important stepping stone into the modular space market”.

Reiner Lübke, chief technical officer at TWL, said comfort and energy efficiency were the important criteria for the company; “We needed a quick solution, but as we plan to use the pavilions for a longer period, they must meet high standards in terms of working environment.”

Cramo said the contract also marked a departure for the German accommodation market; “Cramo’s wooden modules are standard in the Nordic countries, but new to the German market where we normally use container type modules”, said Dirk Schlitzkus, executive vice president at Cramo and managing director of Theisen Baumaschinen.

A 200 m² office building in two storeys and a storage building and maintenance workshop will be ready by the end of June, with the main building completed at the end of July.
