At The Start Of Each Year International Cranes And Specialized Transport Conducts a confidence survey among several hundred crane rental companies around the world. This January's survey found European renters in an up-beat mood, with plans to expand their fleets, and both crane utilisation and rental rates edging upwards.

More than 50% of the European crane rental companies surveyed said utilisation rates for mobile cranes went up last year. This increase in demand meant that 26% managed to command higher rental rates, with 56% keeping them static and 18% cutting the cost of crane hire.
