The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) in the USA has released a new crane safety video and revised crane safety manual.

Both the video and the manual are aimed to provide machine operators with an update on best practices and standards, including OSHA 1926:1400 crane standard requirements.

Crane industry experts working through AEM’s Crane Technical Committee (CTC) provided content development and review, while certified trainers from the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) demonstrated best practices in the DVD-video, a spokesperson said.

The video and manual outline tips on how to avoid accidents and create a safe construction site, preparation of the machine for operation and ways to reduce repair costs and to prepare the construction site for safe crane operation.

All AEM safety manuals, videos, and related safety and training products are available online through the AEM Store
