German transport company Industrie-Abbruch has used a 7-axle Doll Panther semi-low loader to transport a 75 tonne type 954 Liebherr crawler excavator.

The trailer was a new addition to Industrie-Abbruch’s fleet. It has a payload capacity of 85.5 tonnes and a dead weight, including ramps, of only 23.4 tonnes. This guarantees that the gross vehicle weight is less than 40 tonnes for empty runs, the manufacturer said. In addition, the 7-axle trailer has a loading height of 850 mm, a trailer width of 800 mm and an excavator recess for excavator booms and accessories.

For the loading operation, the crawler excavator was driven onto the trailer’s platform using double ramps. It was then lashed into place and transported overnight.
