Italy-based CTE SpA will merge with its ariel work platform manufacturing partner Sequani Meccanica.

The merger, part of a CTE Group production reorganisation, will see Sequani Meccanica's current base in Rivoli Veronese, Verona used as a manufacturing and administrative base for both companies.

Management and commercial functions, including marketing, will remain at the CTE headquarters in Rovereto. The arrangement will be effective from 1 January 2013.

"This merger will not change either the business politics or the business strategy of the CTE Group," said a company spokesman.

The two companies began working together in 1997 when CTE started manufacturing aerial work platforms. To date, both companies have produced about 6000 articulated truck and track mounted platforms between them. By the end of 2012 the Verona-based plant will have produced about 1000 units, said CTE.

Sequani Meccanica was established in the early 1980's and initially produced cranes. Over the last few years its Verona site became a production plant for CTE machines, including ZED truck mounted articulated platforms, B-Lift Pro-Easy truck mounted telescopic platforms, B-Lift multipurpose truck-mounted articulated-telescopic platforms, and its Traccess tracked aerial access platforms.
