Dash mounted charger

Omnex Control Systems has introduced the CC Dock contact-less charging system for use with its T110C transmitter. The system enables users to charge the transmitter without making any mechanical electrical contacts. The T110C is a hand-held remote control that uses the company's wireless technology to operate auxiliary functions for truck mounted cranes, tow trucks, utility trucks and similar vehicles.

The design eliminates the need for mechanical contacts as it uses magnetic induction to charge the batteries. It can detect the difference between NiMH (nickel metal hydride) and NiCd (nickel cadmium) batteries and will charge them accordingly.

New features include light indicators and an optional alarm to notify the operator if the transmitter is not in the dock when the vehicle is set in motion. A low power mode is also integrated into the product. If the vehicle's battery drops below 10 volts, the charger will automatically shift to a trickle charge.
