Saudi Arabia-based Dayim Equipment Rental has ordered 10 articulated boom lifts from Terex AWP manufacturer Genie.

The company, which provides customers with construction, access and power equipment from bases in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE, added the Genie ZX-135/70 machines as part of its fleet renewal plan.

The ZX-135/70 model offers a maximum working height of 43.5m, an outreach of 21.2m and a below ground reach of 5.8m.

The booms are primarily expected to be used by customers in the oil & gas and industrial sectors.

Imtiyaz Abedi, operations director at Dayim Equipment Rental, said, “Our choice of investing in a specific brand and model is the result of a rigorous examination of all the elements that come into play in terms of total cost of ownership and, on that front, the Genie ZX-135/70 outperforms same-class boom lifts available on the market.”

According to Genie, which was awarded the contract through a tender process, the rental firm also chose the model for its safety features.

These include tilt, descent, motion and travel alarms, four wheel brakes, and the manufacturer’s Lift Guard Contract alarm.

Dayim, which last year added a number of Genie SX-180 super booms, said its model selection was also driven by customer feedback.

Fatin Aldandan, business development director at Dayim Equipment Rental, said, “Our focus on strategic partnerships with major end-users and key players in oil and gas and construction industries has helped us understand customers’ operational requirements, apart from our priorities on a technical and safety perspective.

“This helps us add products to our portfolio that tick our fleet requirements, are safest to operate, and that fit customers’ requirements and support their productivity needs.”

The company’s new Genie ZX-135/70 boom lifts include a self-levelling 272kg capacity platform.

Additional capabilities comprise a 180-degree hydraulic rotating platform, proportional joystick controls and a telematics-ready connector.

The first of the new machines will be delivered to Dayim later this month (July, 2021).
