Design award for Terex Superlift 3800
05 December 2013
Terex has been awarded the 2013 Rheinland-Pfalz Design Award in the products category for its Superlift 3800 crawler crane.
The award was presented to the company on 26 November in Koblenz, Germany.
Francois Truffier, Terex Cranes vice president marketing, said, “At Terex Cranes, we believe in investing in product design, both operational and aesthetics. The result: we created a crane that operators are delighted with, delivers the performance to get a job done quickly and efficiently and that carries a recognisable look amongst all of our cranes.
“We have come a long way in building one brand within Terex Cranes and product design contributed significantly to this. We can see it today, as all new products carry the Terex Cranes family look. We are proud that this effort was awarded the 2013 Rheinland-Pfalz Design Award.”
Features of the Superlift 3800 include a lifting capacity of 650 tonnes, a maximum load moment of 8,484 tonne-metres, the Terex fall protection system and a Porsche Engineering-designed operator cab. Components of the crane have been designed for worldwide transportation.
The crane is capable of erecting wind turbines 117 metres tall without needing to use the available superlift boom configuration.
