Two manufacturers of telescopic handlers, Dieci and Faresin, have joined Italian construction equipment association Unacea.

Ciro Correggi, managing director of Dieci, manufacturer of telescopic handlers, self-loading truck mixers and dumpers, said,We have joined Unacea because we believe in the trade association’s work in Italy and Europe.”

He added that the company had always participated in the activities of CECE (the Committee for European Construction Equipment), of which Unacea is a member, both in terms of statistics and lobbying.

“Effectively,” he said, “the associative work allows us to have an in-depth look and a better understanding of the dynamics of the international market, with useful knowledge and assessment instruments”.

Dieci, which is based in the Italian region of Emilia Romagna, has been in business for over 50 years. It began the production of telescopic handlers in 1983.

Faresin is based near Venice. President Sante Faresin said his company was joining Unacea because it believed it was right to address the problems of the industry in Italy and Europe together, with collaboration and team spirit.

He added that Unacea was also active in internationalisation, and that national pavilions seemed to provide a good opportunity to be present in the most distant markets, especially for Italian SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises).

Created in 1973 as a manufacturer of feed mixer wagons for the livestock sector, Faresin has expanded its production of machinery toward other sectors.

Since 2002, thanks to strategic partnerships, Faresin Industries has been in telescopic handler markets around the world. At present, the company has four international branches – in France, Germany, Poland and Brazil.

In January, Terex also joined Unacea, which was founded in 2010.
