Nationwide Platforms has been named Plant, Tool & Equipment Hire Company of the Year at the Hire Awards of Excellence, while its latest secondary guarding system, SkySiren PCS, was also awarded Construction Industry Product of the Year.

Organised by the Hire Association Europe (HAE), the annual awards celebrate best practice.

In winning the Plant, Tool & Equipment Hire Company of the Year (turnover over £10 million) award, UK-based Nationwide Platforms was commended for the adoption of its values and procedures, providing a stimulating and supportive workplace, and encouraging employee development and business sustainability.

SkySiren PCS secondary guarding, which automatically detects and alerts operators of potential entrapment hazards, was also recognised at the awards after receiving the Construction Industry Product of the Year. Developed by the Lavendon Group’s research and development function, BlueSky Solutions, the device successfully demonstrated an innovative design and conception process.

Jeremy Fish, Nationwide Platforms' managing director, said, “We’re extremely proud that Nationwide Platforms and SkySiren PCS have been recognised at such a prestigious event. It is a great achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Nationwide Platforms.”
