EIB supports Croatia infrastructure upgrade

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved two loans totalling €85 million to support infrastructure development in Croatia.

€60 million will support the construction of 13km of motorway along the Vc transport corridor, which links the Croatian coast with the Hungarian capital Budapest through Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Another loan of €25 million will finance the upgrade of basic infrastructure in municipalities and towns in coastal counties of Croatia. Projects include road building and the development of water supply and waste water schemes. The work is scheduled for completion by 2013.
