Eiffage clinches €795 million deal

Société du Grand Paris has awarded a €795 million contract to Eiffage – through its subsidiary Eiffage Génie Civil – to build a section of the Grand Paris Express 15 Sud railway line in Paris, France, in a joint venture with Razel-Bec, a subsidiary of the Fayat group.

Of the €795 million, €435 million will go to French-based Eiffage, which is leading the consortium comprised of Razel-Bec, Eiffage Fondations, Sefi-Intrafor, Icop, Coteg and the subcontractor Capocci, as well as the partner engineering firms Egis and Tractebel.

Eiffage Génie Civil – the infrastructures division of the civil engineering company – will be responsible for the construction of a section of the Grand Paris Express 15 Sud railway line in Val-de-Marne, which will run between the Bry-Villiers-Champigny and Créteil l’Échat stations.

It will involve digging 7.2km of 8.7m-diameter double-track tunnel using two tunnel boring machines (TBMs) and creating seven related rail structures between the stations, along with an additional one for the future connection with the 15 Est line.

The consortium will also be required to build three stations – Bry-Villiers-Champigny, Champigny Centre and Saint-Maur Créteil.

Work begins in April 2017 and is expected to employ 800 people at its peak.

It is estimated that the project will take five years to complete.
