The latest purchase made by long-term Liebherr customer Emerson Crane Hire is a 200 tonne capacity LTM 1200-5.1 all terrain.
It follows close behind the Dagenham, UK-based company’s investment in two LTM 1060-3.1 mobile cranes earlier in 2016 and is its second LTM 1200-5.1.
In addition to its seven-section, 72 metre telescopic main boom, the LTM 1200-5.1 is available with a 7 m lattice boom extension, giving a higher pivot point for the bi-fold swing away jib. To enhance the crane’s capability, Emerson ordered it with a 22 m bi-fold swing-away extension, complete with hydraulic luffing and offset by up to 45 degrees. The crane is programmed for the fly jib inserts.
The VarioBase system enables each outrigger or stabiliser to be extended to any length with the crane operation made safe by the load moment limiter within the LICCON control. The variable supporting base ensures higher lifting capacities and a larger working range, even with a maximum support base, with the largest increases made in the operating ranges directly above the supports.
Liam Clancy, Emerson Crane Hire managing director, said, “An additional LTM 1200-5.1 was the right choice to support Emerson’s ongoing improvement in customer service levels, delivering on our strategic plan of continued growth within the crane market.
“The popularity of our first LTM 1200-5.1 and the difficulty our industry faces with late changes to main contractor approved health and safety documentation, for example, with Network Rail, made a second unit essential. And, after a recent Liebherr induction, our operators were extremely impressed with the LTM 1200-5.1.”
