Erbacon in South Africa chooses MCS software

12 November 2010

Erbacon Small Plant, a rental company in South Africa, is to implement the MCS-rm rental software system from MCS.

Erbacon is based in KwaZulu-Natal, is part of the construction company Erbacon Group, and has seven branches across South Africa, making it one of the larger small equipment rental companies in the country.

Yusuf Paruk, Erbacon's project manager, said; "MCS-rm addresses our equipment and business issues, with all the capabilities to support informed decision-making. This, in turn, will help us to achieve our business goals.

The MCS system will replace a number of existing, different software systems used by the company. "Our priority was to find a solution that would not only do an outstanding job of managing the core hire business, but would link with financials and provide advanced profit and loss reporting at different levels to support strong management control of our growth.

"We were highly impressed with the functionality inherent within MCS-rm and its ability to mould to our business...The MCS team understood our requirements and demonstrated that the software could be tweaked so it would let us account for non-itemised equipment."

MCS deputy chief executive officer, Guy van der Knaap, said; "We are delighted that MCS-rm has been chosen to support Erbacon Small Plant's growing business. We look forward to building a close working partnership with them, like the relationships we have successfully established with other rental organisations within the South African economy."

MCS already has customers in South Africa involved in IT rental, vehicle rental, catering and marquee hire, audio-visual hire, the hire of portable sanitation and portable buildings, plant and tool hire, and welding and construction rental.
