Celebrating the first Euro Auctions Valencia sale in late 2010

The first Euro Auctions auction of heavy plant and construction equipment in Valencia exceeded expectations and confirmed Spain as the next country in the UK company's expansion plans.

Held on the 10 December 2010, the sale attracted 746 lots from 16 sellers and bidders from 32 countries. Internet buyers constituted 51.9% of the total. Strong local interest included 48 new bidders and there was keen interest from Spanish speaking countries in South America, notably Uruguay.

Top buying countries at this sale were the Netherlands at €464,260 (US$ 622,000) followed by Spain at €430,830 ($577,000) and the UK at €405,190 ($543,000).

Jonnie Keys from Euro Auctions comments: "This first sale on a permanent site in Spain was a logical step for Euro Auctions. Fuelled by interest from loyal customers we chose Valencia to better serve customers in Southern Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East, providing a logistical distribution platform for these booming markets. Valencia also provides a strong export platform out of Spain, which is good for the Spanish consigner."

The next Euro Auctions sale in Valencia is on 9 March.
