UK-based temporary surface and crowd control equipment rental company Eve Trakway bought Vincehire Ltd, a company in Crondall, Surrey that rents barriers and fencing. Terms of the deal are undisclosed.

Eve Trakway said the move strengthens its rental offering and increases its service capability in the south of the UK. Managing director Rick Barnett: "This acquisition not only complements our current business but highlights our desire to grow in the ongoing difficult economic situation.

"We have been watching the growing success of Vincehire with a keen eye over the years and are delighted that Vincehire chose us when they decided to sell. We are very pleased to now welcome the team into the company."

In a related move in November 2008 Eve Trakway acquired Fluid Event Interiors in Salisbury, Wiltshire, a specialist rental provider of interior linings for temporary structures, venues and exhibitions. Fluid remains a separate operating unit of Eve Trakway.

Eve Trakway rents temporary roadways, walkways, barriers, bridges and fences for a variety of construction and commercial uses. The company has three depots in the UK, and it partners with rental companies Allspace in Ireland, eps GmpH in Germany, and Envhyro in France.
