Specialized transport equipment manufacturer Goldhofer has delivered two of its new Faktor 5 high girder bridge transporters to heavy haulage companies in South America and Sweden.

The Faktor 5 has a payload-to-deadweight ratio of 5:1. The vertical stroke in the loading area is 1.80 metres and it has loading widths ranging from 3 to 6.75 m. Loading lengths range from 11 to 17 m and it has variable axle configuration, from 2 x 12 up to 2 x 20, the manufacturer said.

One unit has been delivered to heavy haulage company Transportes Pesados Itajaí (Transpi), headquartered in Brazil. Eduardo Dassoler, Transpi operations manager, said, “I am delighted to have a new vehicle that equips us to handle demanding future transport contracts. We shall be using Faktor 5 for heavy loads with a length of up to 14 metres. The vehicle is perfect for meeting Brazil’s highway regulations.”

Another unit went to heavy haulage specialist Kraftdragarna, based in Sweden. Hans Müller, Kraftdragarna chief executive officer, said, “We’re a little bit excited as we’re a relatively new Goldhofer customer, having purchased our first axle lines from them in 2011. The positive performance of our Goldhofer axle lines, the company’s outstanding reputation as the world market leader in the field of transport and the first-class advisory service offered by Bolding as the Goldhofer agent in Denmark persuaded us that now was the time to invest in Faktor 5.”
