Gilberto Ferreira has been appointed director of EnCore Americas, Manitowoc Crane Care's remanufacturing programme.

He will report to Scott Keckler, the newly appointed vice president of Manitowoc Crane Care for the Americas.

Keckler said Manitowoc Crane Care would benefit from Gilberto's experience. "As we take steps to expand our crane and component remanufacturing program, we need experienced leadership to direct the developments. Gilberto brings a wealth of experience in customer support."

Ferreira will oversee all EnCore activities in the Americas, including the EnCore Partners programme and operations in Bauxite, Arkansas, USA.

The EnCore Partners programme for dealers in the Americas was launched at the begining of January. Under the plans Manitowoc Crane Care will partner with interested dealers that pass rigorous capabilities assessments to provide crane remanufacturing and major repair services.

Partners will receive commercial, technical and retail financing support from Manitowoc Crane Care and Manitowoc Finance, says the manufacturer.

Ferreira joined Manitowoc in 1997, and has been based in Sao Paulo, Brazil since 2007. He has held a number of positions at the company, most recently as the director of Manitowoc Crane Care in Latin America.
