Ferrovial subsidiary wins Polish power contract

Budimex, Ferrovial Agroman’s Polish subsidiary, along with Hitachi Power and Técnicas Reunidas, has won a PLN3.25 billion (€770 million) contract to expand the Turów power plant in south-west Poland.
PGE, Poland’s largest electric utility provider, awarded the contract, which includes design and construction of a new 450MW power block.
Budimex will assemble the control and measurement equipment, build the cooling tower, and the ash and slag removal system, and install piping and ancillary thermal and mechanical equipment.
The work is expected to take 56 months.
This contract expands Budimex’s position in industrial construction in Poland, where it is involved in projects for cement and power plants as well as waste and water treatment facilities.
