The European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) will host a webinar on 8 March (14h00 until 15h30 CET) - Making the Business Case for Green Construction - on the importance of changing to sustainable practices and how construction companies can embrace the transition.

The European Union is currently working towards meeting a carbon neutrality target and reducing the level of emissions generated during the construction phase is essential in reaching this by 2050.

The webinar will be hosted by Kaitlyn Dietz, Sustainable Construction & Circular Economy Officer with ICLEI - a global network of more than 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development.

Following opening remarks from FIEC’s director general, Domenico Campogrande, experts on sustainable construction will discuss:

  • How the European Commission is promoting the greening of infrastructure projects
  • What requirements can be expected in future procurements
  • What construction companies can do to become greener?
