Modernisation of the Ivano-Frankowsk cement works' production facilities, in the west of the Ukraine, has seen the construction of a new 43 m high storage silo and a 77 m high production unit.

To complete the work main contractor Energospezialhochbau EBBC, working in collaboration with Peri Ukraine, developed a formwork and scaffolding solution to ensure the project was completed on time and to budget.

Peri's CB climbing formwork, together with its Vario GT 24 girder formwork, was used by Energospezialhochbau EBBC to construct the 300 mm thick reinforced concrete external wall of the silo tower, with an internal diameter of 12 m.

The 13, 3,3 m high concrete sections saw the complete climbing formwork units – formwork and climbing scaffold – moved from cycle to cycle by crane. The external formwork was used to form the massive intermediate slabs and serve as a stable slab edge stop-end, as well as a safety platform.

For the six-storey high production facility, which is a concrete frame structure, two systems were used to form the floor slabs, with integrated beams up to 2,5 m high.

Peri's Multiflex girder slab form-work and its lightweight Handset system, used as a side formwork, provided Energospezialhochbau EBBC with a flexible system, needed because the beams were irregular in dimension and were sometimes diagonally positioned giving the structure a complicated three-dimensional geometry.

Peri Up modular scaffolding was used to transfer the high loads at floor heights between 10 and 16 m. Elsewhere, Energospezialhochbau EBBC used the modular Peri Up scaffolding system, while Peri's MultiProp aluminium slab props served as temporary props.
