Gottwald will supply its third floating crane for coal handling off the coast of Indonesia.

The order for the G HPK 8200 B Model 8, Generation 5 variant, which is based on mobile harbour crane technology, will mark the sale of 18 units since its launch in 2004.

The buyer, Archean Group, is a new customer for Gottwald Port Technology and operates coal mines in Indonesia through its affiliation with PT Core Mineral Indonesia. The new G HPK 8200 B, due for delivery in August 2010, will be used for open sea transhipment of export coal from barges to ocean-going vessels in the Bengkulu province, also known as Southwest Sumatra.

The machine is designed as a 4-rope grab crane for heavy-duty bulk handling with a grab capacity of 63 tonnes up to 34 m radius. It can be used with ships of all sizes and can handle rates up to 1,500 tonnes/hour.

The crane will be mounted on a cylindrical pedestal integrated on a customised barge. Both the pedestal and the barge will be manufactured by the customer.
