Mateco's TG157 - securely fastened to a floating pontoon - was used to provide workers access to Hamburg's Memory City buildings.

German rental company Mateco was called in to provide workers with platform access to the Memory City of Hamburg - the old free port that stands on the banks of the River Elbe.

Built in 1883, the depot stands on oak stakes and therefore regular maintenance is required. This time, workers had to replace the gutter pipes on the building, from the waterside.

Working in conjunction with the Hamburg port authority and a local sanitation company, Mateco supplied a TG157 telescopic platform to access the building. Because the work to be carried out was on the waterside of the building the TG157 had to be placed on a floating pontoon. A crane lifted the TG157 onto the pontoon, where it was securely fastened, before transporting the platform 600 m to the property façade. Cleaning the gutter pipes took four days.
