Delta-Q Technologies has introduced two new IC Series battery charging solutions for use in electric and hybrid aerial work platforms.

The new IC900 and IC1200 Industrial Battery Chargers join the company’s IC650 Charger to form a common charging platform for use across manufacturers’ product lines.

IC Series chargers are designed for high reliability to withstand the difficult operating conditions faced by electric scissor lifts, boom lifts, and hybrid boom lifts. Users benefit from precise charging of lead acid (wet/flooded, sealed AGM or gel) or lithium-ion batteries. The three models in the IC Series lineup provide 650, 900 and 1200 watts of DC output power, respectively, and all are available in 24, 36- and 48-volt models.

Delta-Q is now accepting IC900 and IC1200 sample requests for delivery in December 2015, with full commercial production beginning in March 2016.

“IC Series chargers are highly reliable solutions that meet the machine uptime requirements of users such as rental and construction companies,” said Trent Punnett, vice president, product management and marketing at Delta-Q. “As a common technology platform, these chargers make machines easier to use and maintain, and provide flexibility for different battery types so manufacturers can easily integrate an IC Series charger.”

IC Series chargers are validated for a long service life in challenging on-board applications. Their IP66-rated ingress protection seals out dirt and fluids, while mechanical design and component selection help resist factors such as vibration, shock and temperature extremes.

Optional CAN bus communication enables a link between the charger and other components, providing machine diagnostics and servicing information, and safe lithium ion battery charging. IC Series chargers store charge cycle data which is accessible using their built-in USB host port.
