Terex AWP has introduced a new battery charger for some of its slab scissor models.

Terex Aerial Work Platform (AWP) has unveiled a new battery charger for its Genie slab scissor models GS-30, GS-32 and GS-46 series. The charger meets all ANSI, CSA and CE standards.

Improvements for the charger include a relocated plug from the side to the rear of the scissor (except on scissor in the Australian marketplace) to improve durability; optimized battery life; an A/C power source and lastly, what the company says is better diagnostic capabilities.

"Through extensive field research and customer feedback, we decided to move forward and improve the performance and durability of the slab scissor charger," said Jeff Weido, Terex AWP product manager, scissors. "The new battery charger offers overall improved battery performance for the slab scissors line, resulting in an even better product."

The new charger can be ordered through Genie's service parts department and the rear charger cord kit will be available in early 2010, the company said, and sold separately. The charger will be introduced in 2010 on the following products: GR, GRC-12, QuickStock Lift, TZ-34 and TZ-50.
