Swecon - Volvo authorised trading partner

The central German dealer for Volvo Construction Equipment, Swecon Baumaschinen, is buying Baumaschinen Könicke, which will allow it to expand its operations into northern Germany.

The acquisition, which is still subject to approval from the German Competition Authority, will mean that Swecon will operate 20 dealerships in central and northern Germany.

Swecon is part of Sweden’s Lantmannen Group and is authorised trading partner for Volvo Construction Equipment in Sweden, the Baltic States and central Germany. It will now be adding northern Germany to that list.

Chris Rees, president of Volvo Construction Equipment Region Europe, said that the acquisition would be of benefit to Volvo’s customers. He said, “Volvo Construction Equipment has long had a close relationship with Swecon, and this deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions that have led to Swecon developing a strong, professional and customer-orientated reputation in the Nordic region and Europe.”

Mr Rees added that Swecon had a “superb reputation in terms of customer satisfaction” and that Volvo Construction Equipment Region Europe looked forward to working together with Swecon to develop what was an important part of the manufacturer’s European operations.
