Global business growth for Salini Impregilo

Recently merged Italian contractors the Salini Impregilo Group has made a strong start to business together with global contracts worth € 770 million (US$ 1 billion) recently signed.

In South America, Impregilo, together with its USA subsidiary S.A. Healy, has been awarded the contract for the construction of a new wastewater collector in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Valued at €360 million (US$ 475 million), the project includes the collection of wastewater from the Riachuelo plant via a 40 m deep shaft. The wastewater will be carried to a diffuser that will be made on the bottom of the Rio de la Plata River. 


In Kazakhstan, Impregilo and Todini, in a joint venture with local company Kazakhdorstroy, have been awarded a € 295 million (US$ 390 million) contract for the construction of four lots of the Almaty to Khorgos motorway. The project, financed by the World Bank, consists of the modernization and doubling of the existing highway for a distance of 193 km, including five overpasses.

The Salini Impregilo Group, via its subsidiary Todini Central Asia, has also been awarded an additional contract in Kazakhstan for the reconstruction of a 41 km part of the Almaty-Ust-Kamenogorsk road worth € 92 million (US$ 120 million).

Meanwhile, in Sierra Leone, Salini has been awarded the contract for the reconstruction of a 70 km road from Makeni to Sefadu, in the north area of the capital city Freetown. The total value of the contract is about € 24 million (US$ 32 million).
