AFI has made substantial investments in its delivery fleet.

AFI has become the UK’s first dedicated powered access hire company to gain Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Gold accreditation for its good working practices.

The FORS scheme has been set up to raise the level of quality within fleet operations and to demonstrate which operations are accomplishing the highest standards in London and the UK.

To progress from Silver to Gold, AFI had to show further improvements in areas such as fuel usage, CO2 output, performance measurement, and staff training.

AFI Group operational support manager Paul Shipman said, “Becoming FORS Gold accredited shows that AFI is fully committed to safety and environmental issues and is at the forefront of the powered access industry in striving to improve standards in all aspects of our business. We are also having a major drive on customer service standards within our company and achieving Gold shows our customers that as a company we always strive to exceed their expectations and requirements.”

AFI safety and environmental initiatives for its vehicle fleets include telemetry systems to monitor driver performance, and a Careful Drivers Incentive scheme and a Fuel Efficiency Incentive scheme for drivers of its commercial delivery vehicles.

AFI has also made substantial investments in its delivery fleet to ensure that its vehicles conform to the latest European standards on emissions. They are fitted with a range of safety, fuel saving and emission reducing devices.
