Peter Hansford, UK Government Chief Construction Adviser, has been confirmed as a guest speaker for a Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) conference in October.

Mr Hansford will speak at the Future of Construction Plant Hire conference on 23 October at Wyboston Lakes Conference Centre, near St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

The CPA said Mr Hansford would discuss the Government's industrial strategy for construction and the challenges and opportunities that it could bring to plant hire.

He joined a raft of confirmed speakers, including Philip White from the UK Health & Safety executive; HS2 construction and logistics deputy John Carroll; and Stephen Radley Director of Policy at the UK Construction Industry Training Board.

The CPA said Steve Hesketh from MGF would chair a panel discussion on BIM (Building Information Modelling) and its impact on hire, while Tim Watson would talk about the latest work on ground conditions for construction plant.

The CPA said the conference was aimed at UKCG and CECA contractors, as well as CPA members and other bodies in construction, and to public and private sector clients.

It said attendance was open to anyone who has an interest in, or influence over, supplying or procuring equipment.
