UK airport operator The Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has launched the tender process for a £650 million (€775 million) business park around Manchester airport.

The Airport City project is planned to involve the redevelopment of a 26.3ha site to the north of Manchester Airport’s terminals and railway station. Currently a mix of scrubland and temporary airport car parking, the site is bordered by the M56 road and Woodhouse Park area of Wythenshawe.

The redevelopment would include the construction of 111,000m2 of offices, 49,239m2 of manufacturing space, 5760m2 of retail space, 1,300 hotel beds, a 5.26ha park, a multi-storey car park and a bridge across the M56.

MAG said it was seeking one or more joint venture co-investment and development partner(s) for the project.
