Six Grove GMK6400 all terrain cranes have been delivered to rental companies in France.

The 400 tonne capacity GMK6400 has a single engine, a MegaDrive hydrostatic drive system and a self-rigging MegaWingLift. The first unit was delivered to lifting and plant service provider AltéAD. It has been working on the expansion of a factory for luxury goods company Louis Vuitton.

Three more GMK6400s will be delivered to crane rental company Mediaco. The six-axle all terrains will join Mediaco’s fleet of more than 700 cranes and will be based in Paris, Nantes and Marseilles. Two more GMK6400s have been delivered to rental companies SMMI and Foselev, based in Lyon and Le Havre, respectively.

Work for the all terrains includes maintenance and expansion work at refineries and manufacturing plants, a company spokesperson said.

Philippe Dumas, Manitowoc EMEA sales director, said, “The GMK6400 crane can perform lifts that no other six-axle or even seven-axle crane can, and yet is easy to transport on French roads. We are incredibly proud of what this crane can do and, much like our 300 tonne Grove GMK6300L, I expect it to reach more sales milestones in the future.”
