Haulotte equipment sales up 75.5% in first quarter

Haulotte Group's sales were $104.3 million in the first quarter of 2011 compared to 2010, an increase of 50.7%. The company said increased sales in Asia, Brazil and Europe are contributing factors, as well as demand in North America from rental companies that are refreshing fleets.

Equipment sales were up 75.5%, representing 67% of the company's total revenue. European sales rose 52%, Asian sales increased 92%, Latin American sales grew by 76% and North American sales grew by 16%.

Service activities and rental business rose by 17.6% and 14.8% compared to 2010's first quarter.

"First quarter 2011 is in line with the growth momentum seen in the second half of 2010, the backlog continues to build," the company said in a statement. "In this context, the Haulotte Group confirms its target of breakeven for the year 2011, focusing its resources on increasing production plans and maintaining its margins."
