Heijmans sees first revenues increase in seven years

25 February 2016

Heijmans has posted a 6% increase in its revenues of €2 billion for 2015, after seven consecutive years of decline.

However, the company’s profits were down €27 million for the year compared with 2014, despite seeing an increase of €6 million for the second half of 2015, over the same period a year earlier.

Bert van der Els, chairman of the executive board, said,The markets in which we operate remain challenging. We did, however, improve in a number of areas in the second half of the year and saw an increase in revenues after seven years of decline.

“Property development and residential building both benefited from the clear growth in the market. However, the Dutch infra market remains poor and margins are under pressure.”

The company also noted that the Belgium and German markets continued to make “solid contributions” towards its results.
