HSS Hire is now offering to rent people as well as equipment through its new HSS Resource service. The company will supply specialist engineers or site labour throughout the UK.

The workers can be rented to work with HSS equipment, or can be hired simply as additional labour. The service, being run through a partnership with personnel company McGinley Support Services, will offer a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled workers, including qualified experts for specialist requirements and experienced site staff to operate and manage on-site labour.

Chris Davies, chief executive officer at HSS, said; "We work as a supply chain partner to many big business and we're constantly developing our services to ensure we provide the very best in tool and equipment hire and management to meet our customers' operational needs. We've now extended that approach to supply expert people as well as the outstanding equipment we're most well known for".

Dermot McGinley, chairman of McGinley Support Services, said the increase in employment legislation had increased the demand for flexible workforce to support equipment rental; "With over 30 years experience in resourcing personnel, we are confident in our partnership with HSS Hire - bringing to the market a dynamic, innovative and much needed service."

HSS will offer two separate types of agreement - for equipment and personnel - but will offer customers a single point of contact for both types of contract. Staff can be hired on a "contingency" basis or on a "term hire agreement basis", to work either in conjunction with HSS equipment or as extra labour in their own right.
