ICUEE opens

With more than 850 exhibitors ready to display their latest and greatest, ICUEE 2015 is on track to be the largest ever in terms of products and exhibiting companies. Held Sept. 29 – Oct. 1 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, the exposition will spread across more than one million net square feet.

This year’s event holds a few new surprises for visitors, including better defined product areas, express shuttles, a “fuel station” where attendees can relax, use Wi-Fi and charging stations and enjoy a beverage or two, plus expanded seating and restrooms throughout the show grounds and additional information booths. ICUEE targets utilities providing electric, telecommunications/cable, natural gas, water, and wastewater services as well as the contractors who provide utilities with infrastructure engineering and construction services.

“ICUEE is always looking for better ways to help attendees more easily find suppliers, get from point A to point B, and re-charge after shopping hundreds of new products and test-driving equipment,” said show director Sara Truesdale Mooney. “Our customer research from the 2013 show highlighted several ways we could ramp up the convenience.”

ICUEE 2015 also partnered with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) for a co-location of the AGC Utility Infrastructure Conference with the 2015 exposition.

The AGC conference will bring together contractors and related businesses involved in utility and infrastructure construction to learn the latest trends shaping the industry, discuss issues affecting the market and to learn what AGC is doing legislatively and how individuals can get involved.

“We are very pleased with AGC’s decision to co-locate its conference with ICUEE and strengthen the breadth of industry education and networking for all show attendees,” said Tim Ford, ICUEE and president of Terex Cranes. “And the AGC exhibits pavilion adds extra value to what attendees will find on the ICUEE show floor to help them run their businesses more effectively.”

One of the biggest draws for attendees to ICUEE is the live product demonstrations. Attendees are encouraged to operate and compare the latest equipment in job-like conditions, in addition to discussions with product experts. Exhibitors can also showcase product capabilities through live demonstrations at a special indoor demo stage. Product pavilions and a hands-on ride and drive test track also are on site.

The Demo Expo’s education program features learning opportunities with leading industry experts on the latest safety, regulatory, operational and technological issues affecting the utility and construction industry.
