A US$ 1.2 billion conditional credit line will be used to finance a programme to improve metropolitan railroads in Argentina.
A US$ 300 million loan will be use for the Plaza Constitución – La Plata branch of the General Roca Railroad, in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area.
The General Roca works will improve and electrify 52.6 km of railroad, reducing travel times and accidents and improving reliability. It is estimated that once works are complete, the Plaza Constitución–La Plata branch will carry an estimated 55 million passengers.
