On the D47 highway between lipnik and belotin, in the czech republic skanska cz is paving with a gomaco four-track ghp-4000 paver. It is equipped with a two-lift paving system, which is able to slipform the two different types of mixes needed at the site, and an IDBI (In-The-Pan Dowel bar inserter). The total thickness of the slab is 300 mm with a 230 mm thick bottom layer and a 70 mm thick top layer. The width of the slab varies between 10,75 and 12,25 m. The IDBI is inserting 40 bars across the width of the slab, with 250 mm spacing between the bars, with joints every 1,2 m.
