Transport service provider InterMax Logistics Solution has completed a contract to deliver 200 hopper railcars to Venezuela. The project was carried out for CSR Meishan, a manufacturer of railway vehicles and brakes in China.

The railcars were delivered to Shanghai Terminal in two stages before being loaded onto a chartered vessel in two lots. They were then shipped to Puerto Ordaz an inland port near Northeast Venezuela.

The port has two main berths and the shoreline is 574 metres long and 12.4 m deep. Due to the limited channel access of the port, the loading of the railcars was a challenge as they were under-deck and non-stackable, a company spokesperson said. However, despite the challenges, the railcars were unloaded successfully.
