Nationwide Platforms has added 29 Isuzu D-Max pick-up mounted Versalift LAT135-Hs to its Specialist Vehicles fleet.

Replacing a fleet of Land Rover 4x4 platforms, the LAT135-Hs have a working height of 13.3 m, an outreach of 6.1 m and an unrestricted 230kg platform capacity. Capable of traversing rough terrain and accessing remote locations, the new units are ideal for the utilities and arboricultural sectors.

Fitted with BF Goodrich off-road tyres, features include Chapter 8 compliance, fully hydraulic control, earth bonding and front radial outriggers which provide improved levelling and stability compared with conventional A Frame outriggers. An additional storage compartment also allows for materials and tools - such as a chainsaw - to be securely store and carried.

The LAT135-Hs boom stowing mechanism has been designed to allow for entry into the platform from both the chassis and ground level, while its overall stowed height of 2.5 m coupled with its low centre of gravity.

Peter Douglas, Nationwide Platforms operations director, said, “Our long serving customers in the utilities and arboricultural sectors, which were previously using the Land Rover platforms, have been hugely impressed with the Isuzu’s comfort and driveability as well as its modern features, such as Bluetooth technology. The Versalift unit offers enhanced off-road and working envelope capabilities for carrying out tasks around lower level power lines and will remain a core model in our fleet offering going forward.”

In addition to the Versalift LAT135-Hs, Nationwide Platforms also took delivery of a number of 12.5 m and 14 m van mounted platforms last year in an order worth £5.5 million.
