Jaypee’s Rajiv Gaur killed in train accident

Rajiv Gaur, executive president of Indian contractor Jaiprakash Associates – a subsidiary of cement producer Jaypee – died yesterday (16 December) in a train accident.

A spokesman from Jaypee confirmed that Mr Gaur died trying to board a train in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh state, India. At the time of going to press, the company had not released a statement regarding the incident. A police investigation is underway.

Jaiprakash Associates is one of India’s largest contractors and ranked 116 in this year’s International Construction global top 200 contractors, with annual revenues of US$ 3.2 billion.
